Spring has officially sprung which means at Wildflower Weddings we are thinking all about Spring weddings! Did you know that June is the most popular month to get married? We understand why: Spring gives an opportunity for weddings to be all about bringing colour back into the world. It’s a time of regrowth where new plants begin to sprout into life. It’s safe to say that symbolically the season is well suited to celebrate beginning a new life with your spouse! Consider some of these ideas for your spring wedding:
This time of year can be a bit iffy when it comes to the weather. There is a higher chance of it raining on your wedding day. Don’t let this stop you from having a gorgeous outdoor wedding though! After all, the fresh air and plant life is beautiful this time of year! It’s best to stay on the safe side and have a backup plan incase it does rain. Many outdoor venues offer tents or shelter in case of rain, or you can look into renting one from a rental company. It’ll save you from sleepless nights looking at the forecast days before your wedding!
Its fun to play off the colours and vibes of the season. Adding sheer, pastel hues to the attire of the wedding party is a refreshing look for this time of year. Using bright and vibrant colours are also a great choice. Consider opting for the men to wear lighter toned suits such as taupe, beige or grey with a hint of your colour of choice for their ties. It is also a fun idea to incorporate rain boots and cute umbrellas in your wedding! This will both play off nicely in photos as props as well as being practical if it ends up raining.
Some of our absolute favourite flowers are in season during spring. Peonies, tulips, ranunculus, lilies, garden roses and the list goes on! Flowers bring life to an event and spring is no exception. It’s a breath of fresh air to see some lush florals after the winter! Of course using them for bouquets and centrepieces are great, but also using them in a ceremony arch, as decor for the cake, or along the aisle as aisle runners brings colour and life to your event.
This is an opportunity to showcase your theme to your guests. Adding special hints of the Spring season into the decor livens the venue up! What comes to our mind when we think of spring? Birds, lemonade, butterflies, flowers, umbrella’s, bicycles (built for two!), refreshing brightly coloured cocktails, ice-cream, etc! It’s helpful to sit down with a piece of paper and write down a list of all things that make you think of the theme, then from there see where you can incorporate it in your wedding.
